Latrice Strader, a native Washingtonian, a master stylist and the owner of Destiny De’Ve Boutique Salon located in the revitalized Brentwood neighborhood of Washington, DC. Latrice began her lifelong passion for hair in the 7th grade, after her mother gave her a Jheri Curl, a hair mishap she swore she would never let happen again.
Latrice later enrolled in her high school’s cosmetology program and during her free time she worked as an assistant to master stylists in order to better her craft. Mrs. Strader received her cosmetology licensed from Chamberlain Vocational High School located in the heart of DC in 1994, Graduating from High School in 1995 with her Diploma and Licensed. Upon graduation from high school, she began her career as a stylist on DC’s historic U Street corridor. For the next 12 years, Latrice built a reputation for her expertise in multi-cultural styling and fashion forward styles that demand attention.
In October 2007, Latrice and her husband David Strader opened Destiny De’Ve Hair Salon and Spa currently know as Destiny De’Ve Boutique Salon. The salon offers a variety of services to re-balance and re-energize your mind, body and soul, the stylists and staff specialize in fashion-forward hairstyles and vibrant hair color to have client looking and feeling their very best.
Latrice, a former Golden Scissor overall stylist of the year, is DC’s leading premier master stylist. Her sought after conceptual style has been featured on covers of top magazines, print advertisement, television, and industry publications including: Sulfur 8, Black Hair Sophisticates, Passion, Hype Hair, Salon Profile, Real Style International, Bride’s Magazine and Essence. Latrice was a special guest on WUSA9,WJLA8 and CBS6. Latrice was the lead hair stylist for the Wale Pat Your Weave Music Video that’s featured on MTV,VH1 and MTV.
Aside from the accolades, Latrice’s passion for hair and avant-garde style is embodied in her beautiful and sexy hairstyles. Critics and clients agree that Latrice’s style and expertise is well beyond the current industry standard.
Latrice has provided services to several NFL and NBA wives such as Illian Miles, Sheree Jordon and Roxy McNabb. Latrice is the stylist for the Washington Wizard Cheerleader Team Latrice has styled celebrities such as Free from BET 106 and Park, Cat Ommanney, Jackie Hood Martin, Natasha Eubank, Myrlie Evers Williams, Shirley Sherrod, Marian Wright Edelman and Chalayne Hunter Gault just to name a few.
Latrice sat on the Small and Local Commission Board for the District of Columbia for a year. Latrice recently started her own product line, Latrice products include three version of her De’ve Hair Straighter, De’Ve T-shirts and Hair Books.
